For everyone on this site, I just want to say that I volunteered for Brush Up Buffalo one year before I moved to LA and it was one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences I've had in my life. We painted the home of a senior woman whose house hadn't been touched at all since her husband died. About 50-75 of us swarmed her house all day long, and when it was done, she came out of the house, offered us some of her homemade iced tea and cried in joy. She said "Henry would be so proud." It can't get much better than that!

Go out and volunteer! =)

I agree with spotswoc, I volunteered for this event when they painted homes in the Fruitbelt, Definitely one of the most fun experiences I have had volunteering, Only second to planting trees which you can watch grow for your whole life. If you are bored and want to do something out in your community, on a nice summer day you should really consider this an option.
