    is anyone still here now that it is 2008? especially Laura? if so, then YES!!! i would LOVE more complex flan recipes, and a trip through the different realms of flan, if that offer is still good...and thank you for this recipe and the good advice. funny that a gal, "me"who grew up in central texas with all the tex-mex influences would be reaching north for flan complexities...but the buffalo area with all the wonderful surrounding communities, is one of my favorite places on earth, i LOVE it up there! and one of my favorite catchy tunes is "the E-ri-e is a risin'" so i feel right at home here at BRO with my first comment. i wish i was there now, i need some ice cream in the country and a friday night fish fry!

    tip - place a dish towel on the botom of the water bath, before placing loaf pan or remekins into the bath; this'll reduce the likelihood of hot water splashing into the flan duing baking

    Drooool! Thank you for sharing this recipe! I know creme brulees are similar except with torch burnt tops.
