Just a nit: something can't be "every other year" and "biannually." Biannual is twice yearly, biennial is every other year. Even if it is a simple misspelling/misunderstanding, why say something is every other year and biennial? Just pick one or the other.
Biannually is in fact every other year. Something that is held twice-yearly is semi-annual.

Eli: The tour was great. Lots of people and long lines at the houses. Do you happen to know much about the church on the corner? Church of the Ascension? The stained glass windows are phenomenal. The home next to the church was part of the tour and it was the former rectory.

It is a sort of biannual biennial event. When it happens, it happens twice in the year it's happening. It might have been better if I said, "the biennial event happens twice a year," but then I imagine someone would have complained that it makes it biannual.I preferred to not say it like that. It was not a misunderstanding/misspelling.

Call it a "Biennale" and fleece the confused eurotrash that magically appear. Then do it again next year! They won't notice so long as there's good coke around.
To be honest, now I'm not even sure. According to the conversation I had with Ms. Whitaker, it is a "biannual" event that happens every other year. Did she mean biennial? It's very likely. I haven't been able to reach her to confirm, but the Landmark Society of the Niagara Frontier as well as the Art Dialogue Gallery believe it does only happen once per year. When I get a hold of Ms. Whitaker, who is the official organizer for the event, I will update the article accordingly.

The rectory you speak of is what I think Whitaker was talking about when she mentioned a home that used to be a convent. Was it converted into a single family home? If it was, then it is definitely the house Whitaker mentioned to me. Definitely cool either way. Buffalo has some magnificent churches and I didn't know that one would be on the tour or I definitely would have mentioned it.
