44 year old intern?...jeebus
intern=If my guy wins I get a sweet job on the tit of government
Half of South Buffalo are interns come election season.
Ah, we see how quickly the "Parent's Basement" contingent chimes in. And in such a positive manner, as well! So much to add. So much to say. So much to give. It just must hurt, huh, guys? You know, if you are so...bitter about, well, everything, but especially about your lot in life and Buffalo in general, you might want to consider environs more suitable to your delicate natures. You know, like...Toledo! There's a LOT to complain about in Toledo! And there's still a lake you can go jump into!
Sniff Sniff Wilby.
Yes, a recent political grad who is married and had kids and is 44 is interning for Obama ONLY because he wants Obama to win.... Right....
There is nothing wrong with what he is doing. It is the game that is played every election season. Wake up kid.
There are democrats in Buffalo? Oh my gosh, when did this happen?
He reminds me a little of Marlo (Jamie Hector) from "THE WIRE".
I commend Gregory for his following his convictions, I am sure that this has been a difficult, but incredibly gratifying journey for him and his family.
Does anyone know if he is returning to Buffalo, or is he a casualty of our much discussed "brain drain"?
Wilby i wouldn't bang Toledo too hard considering well.... Toledo has more people living is its city proper than Buffalo does.
oddly enough, Toledo's metro population is only 650k. yet more people live within the city limits than B-lo.
i wonder: what does that say about both cities?
It says Toledo has been allowed to expand its city limit, while Buffalo has not annexed any land since it absorbed Black Rock.
Many of Buffalo's terrible national rankings (Forbes, national poverty rate, etc) say more about Buffalo's governmental structure and lines on a map than about growth or poverty. Move the city line to absorb the first ring suburbs, the way many many many cities all over the country do, and Buffalo's population is roughly stable (though not growing), the percentage of people in poverty go down, and Buffalo jumps up the list of "biggest" cities.
Lots of cities have rotting out urban cores. Lots of cities have people in poverty. Buffalo is just one of the only places where the ONLY the rotting core is in the city limit, and stable suburbs are exclusively outside.
ProdigalSon- Good post- Until the parochial attitude of Buffalos "neighbors" changes the area will continue to decline.
People, people, people: Don't you all know that Buffalo CANNOT extend its borders the way other cities already have or that would have happened long ago?!!! Buffalo, NY is a governmentally 'landlocked' strangled stronghold that by decree, CANNOT GROW! That information is probably somewhre on the Internet by now. I'll try to find it later.
Buffalo, NY has been an invisibly gated community for many years! Who ultimately woud benefit from that, do you all think? What sort of folks woud be the future beneficiaries of a poorly governed really large piece of land, (not real estate but the actual soil old Buffalo sits on along side what great lake)?! Poor governing has its beneficiaries after all! Who sees that railline running from the far east up to here yet??? Buffalo, NY is a larva/puba in a cocoon right now.
A decree is a decree with the force of a law!
EricOak. Who ("we know") else did you mean posted about Buffalo's enclosure? By the time slot, it wasn't me. And, would you be willing to find that info online? I have to get going...
Would WNY be a swing state if it were seperate from from NYState or would it be solidly blue.
