    Awesome job!

How come they don't have any bouts in any of the Buffalo rinks? I have wanted to go several times, but I always get shot down because nobody ever wants to schlep out to North Tonawanda. Skateland on Ferry, and Arcadia on Amherst are still in operation, aren't they?

Hoss, apparently the Rainbow Rink was the only one willing to host the league when it started 3 years ago, and they also host practices there throughout the week (all year long). Not sure about those other rinks you mentioned... if it keeps growing the way it has been, who knows what will happen in the future.

Being a former southtowns girl myself, Tonawanda was pretty foreign to me too--but it's actually only about 15 minutes away from my house on Richmond now. Totally worth it for some great derby action!

Yeah, I'm gonna make it a point to go this coming winter. I'll leave the rest of the haters behind and go solo if I have to. It looks like a total blast. Do they serve beer at these bouts?

It does seem like they are growing pretty rapidly. Maybe the other rinks will see the light, and they can start having turf battles and such. It would be great to just walk/bike on over.

They sure do serve beer! It's a really fun, party atmosphere and the crowd really gets into it--I was pretty surprised at the first bout I went to. Just make sure to hold onto your beer & for the first row fans do not put it on the floor; it can be knocked over by a knocked over roller girl ;)

My daughter is a ref for the Maine Roller Derby club in Portland, and hopes to be in town to see the Jan. 3 bout. Goes by the name Ruth of All Evil. http://tinyurl.com/5e24bb
