There's a push being made to save The Aud. It's not just a 'Save The Aud effort' either. There's a group that wants to see The Aud transformed into an indoor parking ramp. The group, Buffalo's Avenue of America, makes the following points and follows them up with an online petition:
Currently the city of Buffalo has put in a grant request in the amount of $22 million to demolish the Memorial Auditorium. There is also a plan to build a new indoor parking ramp for $15 million.
The staff at Buffalo's Avenue of America has made notice to the city of Buffalo that up to $22 million could be saved simply by converting the AUD into an indoor parking ramp.
Maybe if The Aud was converted into indoor parking, the rest of the lots down in the Cobblestone District could be earmarked for future developments.
