While cruising down Main Street last Friday, we couldn't believe our eyes when we saw people moving around inside the Granite Works building. It looked as if the Just Vino space was operational, though in actuality, the owners had just invited some friends over to check out the progress. The good news is that Just Vino will open close to November 1st. That means that Main Street is going to be getting another injection of 'cool' when the first of the month rolls around. The work that has been done to the inside of Just Vino is exceptional. And even though we just happened to wander in, the owners had a hard time getting us out.
Remember what the interior looked like back in May (see post)? Well, owners Jeff Borsuk and Ken Wood have certainly been busy sprucing up the wine bar. I was surprised to see how well they two utilized the space. There appeared to be plenty of room for customers throughout, but at the same time the low lighting, golden copper, aged rustic brick and dark wood colors added a sense of coziness. When the wine is finally added to the mix, Just Vino is going to be searched out by wine, cheese and chocolate lovers alike. There might even be a few carnivores in the crowd as well - hanging near the bar was some sort of animal leg, similar to what an actual European wine bar would have. Apparently it's quite the thing to carve little slices of meat from the cured animal leg to serve at the bar along with the wine and cheese. The hanging meat might not be for everyone, but it certainly signals the authentic direction that these guys are going with the wine bar.
Just Vino is located at 846 Main Street - Store #100.
