Online Aud Memorabilia: Let the Bidding Begin

Did you miss the auction here in town last weekend? No problem. The last phase of Farewell, Old Friend…The Final Salute to Memorial Auditorium, has begun at the event’s official website. 100 sets of beautifully refurbished and autographed seats are available now.

Included in this auction will be 15 sets of seats signed this past weekend by the famed French Connection line of Gilbert Perreault, Richard Martin and Rene Robert, Buffalo Braves first-year Head Coach Dolph Schayes and stars Randy Smith and Ernie DiGregorio, and numerous individually-autographed sets from Smith, Perreault and DiGregorio.

There are also past Mayor Tony Masiello and current Mayor Byron Brown signed seats and two sets signed by Jim Lorentz with a “Batman 5/20/1975” inscription - the date that Lorentz struck a bat down with his stick during the 1975 Stanley Cup Finals! In addition, there are seats signed by Bandits Lacrosse Stars Darris and Rich Kilgour and Buffalo Bisons hockey stars Guy Trottier and Gilles Villemure. The seven-day online auction will conclude on Monday evening, November 24th.

For those who have already purchased sets of seats, there is information available on acquiring the brackets that will make seats “free-standing”. These are custom-made for Aud Seats, and include all hardware and instruction sheet for easy assembly. Brackets for a set of two seats are $75, and $100 for a set of three seats. Additionally, a limited amount of event merchandise may still be purchased by visiting www.audfarewell.com and clicking “shop” on the sites home page.

Proceeds from Farewell, Old Friend and all seat sales will be used to develop a memorial tribute to The Aud in the general vicinity of where the building once stood. For more information, visit the website or contact Showcase Sports Marketing at 716. 625.7410.
