Elmwood Switcheroo

Every once in a while some stores on Elmwood get restless. When that happens you can see a series of stores shifting in and out of locations. Right now, we are seeing a small shift of boutiques moving from block to block and street side to street side. It all starts with Divine Finds vacating its diggs to set up shop at home and on the internet. Unfortunately, it hasn't been that long since the store moved from Lexington Avenue to Elmwood. It turns out that some vintage clothing shops, in this day and age, can operate without a storefront. And with the closing of the Divine Finds store, that leaves an opening for another business to move in.
In this case, the business that is taking advantage of the free space is ShoeFly (from across the street). The owner of the boutique shoe shop has been looking to expand. The opportunity turns out to be perfect, and when ShoeFly opens in the former Divine Finds location (june 1st), it will be internally connected to its neighbor Anna Grace Clothing. But that leaves the ShoeFly location empty. Or does it? Jetaun Jones from BeYouTiful (513 Elmwood) has already snapped up the location. I spoke to Jetaun earlier today and she told me that using the word 'excited' would be an understatement. She is thrilled to be moving down to a heavier trafficked section of Elmwood. She also told me that she was wooed by stores like Anna Grace… stores that felt that BeYouTiful would compliment the rest of the shops on the block nicely. Jetaun is scheduled to reopen June 15th.
Alas, that does leave one empty storefront at the former BeYouTiful location. But with spring afoot and successful businesses like Lu Modern, NEO, and Blue Mountain Coffee holding down that section of Elmwood, it shouldn't be long before the storefront is snapped up (513 Elmwood).

As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …
Caroline Kennedy was in town for a visit with our mayor yesterday. A possible choice to succeed US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Kennedy's name has been mentioned along with that of Attorney General Andrew Cuomo (son of former New York Governor Mario Cuomo) and our own Byron Brown, among others.
Certainly, Kennedy has "been around politics" all of her life, which is to say she was born into a family of politicos and lived in the White House--neither of which would necessarily f …
Free light rail rides on downtown's above ground section could be derailed thanks to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's budget mess. That is the news coming out of a Buffalo Place meeting this morning. Facing a budget shortfall and reduced State operating assistance, the NFTA is scrambling for new revenue sources and is contemplating charging for rides along the lengthy downtown pedestrian mall.
