Free Marketing Training At The Broadway Market
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Buffalo State College is teaming up with the Broadway Market to help the market prepare for their second annual Christmas Fair. The fair is a family-friendly event that showcases the ethnic foods at the market, promotes an array of seasonal sweets and holiday decorations, and provides a bountiful supply of gifts and stocking stuffers. Event organizers for the Christmas Fair want to help give vendors the tools needed to succeed and their partnership with the SBDC will help ensure that goal.
The SBDC helps give businesses an edge on customer service, display strategies and point of sale merchandising, pricing and basic financial analysis, and other building blocks for small retail business owners. They will give a presentation on all of these topics to vendors as well as hand out extra materials. Vendors will also be given the opportunity to receive future, individual counseling meetings with an SBDC advisor.
The SBDC doesn’t charge anything for their counseling services and any small business owner or even someone considering opening a small business can contact them for advice via their website. This presentation at the Broadway Market is also free and only registration is required. To do that, call the market at 893-0705. Their Christmas Fair is Thanksgiving Weekend on November 28th and 29th. The orientation class by the SBDC is being given on September 22nd from 9 AM until 11 AM, giving vendors plenty of time to prepare for that busy shopping weekend.

My Favorite Buildings
This house on Richmond Avenue is very unusual for Buffalo. It stands out among its wooden neighbors not only in material but also in detail and form. Buffalo is overwhelmingly constructed of wood with brick coming in a distant second as a material. Stone houses are very rare. Also rare is the Palazzo styling and shape of this house. The Wait is Almost Over - BR's New Site
