Help Santa support local businesses this Friday along Abbott Rd.

On Friday, December 12 from 5:00 until 9:00PM, South Buffalo’s, locally owned, small businessess (and your neighbors) would like to invite everyone to come out for a christmas celebration.
Every time we open our wallets to a business we are saying, “I like what you do! Keep doing it.” When we shop local, we are saying YES to a strong, vibrant local economy that translates into a unique and interesting city. We are making sure that we have diversity and choices of products and services.
When shopping local we are helping support local causes such as schools, churches and charities. We realize that there is more than monetary value to our purchases, there is community value. Ask someone to name their favorite shop or cafe and chances are it's an independent business.
Our area downtowns have made huge strides over the years to become a special place to those who live and visit here.
This holiday season, look at your Christmas lists and make a decision to purchase at least part of that list at an independent locally owned business.Let the people on your list know that you went to your favorite shop with just them in mind. And don't forget to get a little something for yourself!
Friday night, Trolley car rides(5-7PM) will take shoppers between the following local merchants: ♪ Chique Boutique ♪ Caz Cafe ♪ Dog Ears Bookstore ♪ McKay’s ♪ Tara Gift Shoppe ♪ JG Collectibles ♪ Kiddie Corner ♪ Tracy’s Retreat ♪ South End Floral.
Depending on the store, special activities and/or discounts are planned including a visit by Santa himself.
To keep with the spirit of community, each participating business will be collecting canned goods for the food pantry at St. Vincent de Paul.
Merry Xmas from Abbott Rd.

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …
