It's a city thing.
So, you want to play a little flag football? Can there be a better place to play other than at Johnson Park, which is located almost in the shadow of Buffalo's own City Hall? The park is the oldest continually occupied neighborhood in this city. Did you know that 83% of the homes on the park were built before or during the Civil War? In recent years, the park has witnessed quite a renaissance that can be attributed to its stewards, The Johnson Park Association. On any given day, one can find a myriad of activities (including Thai Chi and neighborhood art festivals) taking place here. Johnson Park is also home of The New Phoenix Theater. If you have not had the pleasure to catch a show at the NPT, you don't know what you are missing!

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.

Free light rail rides on downtown's above ground section could be derailed thanks to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's budget mess. That is the news coming out of a Buffalo Place meeting this morning. Facing a budget shortfall and reduced State operating assistance, the NFTA is scrambling for new revenue sources and is contemplating charging for rides along the lengthy downtown pedestrian mall.
