It's Robot Week... for this guy.

Today RoBear was at the corner of Elmwood and Lafayette and he almost fell over when he ran into Robot Man. This guy in a robot costume was running around the four corners as the streetlights would change. As he was crossing the street he would jump in the air and click his heals in the air. When he would reach a curb he would crouch down so his legs would disappear into the robot body. Then he would leap back up yelling, "It's Robot Week!"
This is one of those times that I can't believe that I missed all of the action. Apparently people were beeping their horns, waving and shouting. Maybe this guy will start a new trend where this type of action will become popular. Who knows? In Japan I am sure that this is a scene that would not be uncommon. A quick Google search yielded no information on any Robot Week that I am aware of. If any of you viewers out there can clue us in, please feel free to.

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …

damn military robots gone haywire. I bet this is just like the last time. so tell me: was the robot in question in search of "more input" or was Steve Guttenberg chasing him from corner to corner?

The Robot escaped from the church on the corner, Lafayette Ave Presbyterian Church (www.elmwoodjesus.org). He was built for the church's Vacation Bible School. Come by all this week to meet the robot and check out the church!

His name is Kirk, really. Scared the crap out of me as I was going to the church. With enthusiasm like that, maybe we could use him for some new "Talkin' Proud"-like campaign. How 'bout "The 'New' Buffalo: Tech-Friendly. Maybe not.
