Jenny's Clay House Opens Tuesday

For nine years Jen Faber, owner of Jenny's Clay House (Paint Your Own Pottery Studio), was in the business of collections. "I graduated with a degree in marketing and business," she told me. "I started painting bisque as a hobby... and then I thought how much fun this would be to own as a business. One day I was antiquing on Hertel and I parked my car and looked over and saw this building. I had been looking for something exactly like this - a freestanding unique space. I couldn't believe it... there it was."
Jenny's Clay House will be the perfect business for anyone looking for a relaxing indoor hobby this winter. "We're going to be catering to kids' birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, couples' and ladies' night... and parties can bring their own food and drinks. We even have a room for private parties. And just think of the snowstorms... we'll be open for those when most businesses close. We want parents to think of us on rainy days. Plus, we don't want people to be afraid to come in who may not be artistic. We supply patterns and stamps and sponges to help decorate the bisque pieces."
For more info on the process of bisque pottery, check out this post. It's easy, pick out a piece, paint it, leave it for a week, and then pick it up. They're going to display the finished pieces in the front window so people can see their works of art when they come to pick them up.
Jenny's Clay House is located at 1599 Hertel Avenue in Buffalo. 716.835.4386

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …

Congrats Jen!! I remember talking to you about this venture on a slow Sunday afternoon at Papaya...I was working, you were , ummm, partaking in the abundant treats the bar had to offer, and we spoke at length about what a treasure this place would be someday. Someday is here!! I am so happy for you...all my best wishes!! Me and my kids will definitely be in to create our own masterpieces! Bravo!! Maria
