Krudmart Gets Sweet & Dirty

Krudmart in Allentown has a new trick up its design sleeve. The store that specializes in line items geared towards the guys has teamed up with Erin Habes (Sweet and Dirty), a seasoned buyer who is introducing a bunch of line for the gals. When Steve Kay, owner of Krudmart, heard that Erin was closing down her store on Potomac (now the Sunday expansion), he reached out to Erin. “I heard that she was thinking about heading to NYC,” Steve told me. “And I knew that we had to keep her here in Buffalo.”
Since that time (just a few months ago), Steve and Erin have been combining Erin’s lines (Rare Eyewear, Gentle Fawn, Piko, 1998) with Steve’s custom Krudmart lines. “It works,” Erin explained. “I’ve been bringing in women’s contemporary and streetwear lines along with a bunch of accessories like sunglasses and jewelry.” Not only does the shop have a fuller look and feel, the range of items keeps the customers in the store longer as they browse the selections.
It’s kinda like having two stores in one… and by keeping Erin in Buffalo, the Elmwood Village is about to reap the rewards in more ways than one. Erin is planning the biggest and most unusual fashion show that the street has ever seen. We’ll have news on that show coming in a matter of days. In the mean time, stop in and check out Krudmart – it’s looking sweet… and a bit dirty (in all the good ways).

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …

not sure what ya mean by that, chrisH but… I cannot wait to hear what fashion show event Miss Erin has up her sleeve… she (and her students) did a kick-ASS job on Buffalo State's RUNWAY event last Spring. I'm so glad she stayed and will be heading up the 2009 version.

chrishawley: I can say I wish you wouldn't make such lustful comments. The subjects deserve respect, and the rest of us deserve not to be bothered with your uninteresting yearnings. Let's keep the discussion on the issues.
