Maureen's Buffalo Wholesale Florist
I'm not one to accept swag from interviewees, I swear. Not even a cup of coffee in a coffee shop. But on a recent trip to Maureen's on Ellicott Street (for the November issue of Buffalo Rising), she not only presented me with this beautiful fall bouquet, but she gifted me the cutest little pumpkin too. Then she walked me to my car, goodies in hand. Who was I to argue?
I won't spoil the details of the article by posting them here right now, but I will tell you that I didn't need any prompting to love Maureen, her shop and what she's accomplished for herself, the community and the many people she employees--34 in all!
Maureen's is such a European-like treat, with buckets full of flowers to choose from when you walk in--and prices clearly marked.
If you want to make up a little holiday bundle of beauty for someone, stop into Maureen's and look over her beautiful array of flowers. From the proteas that remind me of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, to the Calla Lilies that look too elegant and perfect to be real, you're sure to walk out with something you or someone special to you will adore.

My Favorite Buildings
This house on Richmond Avenue is very unusual for Buffalo. It stands out among its wooden neighbors not only in material but also in detail and form. Buffalo is overwhelmingly constructed of wood with brick coming in a distant second as a material. Stone houses are very rare. Also rare is the Palazzo styling and shape of this house. The Wait is Almost Over - BR's New Site
As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
