One Tough Tap Handle

The Rusty Chain beer tap handle is nearing completion. Thanks to Dennis (photo) and Paul at Atlas Steel (and Steel Crazy), the custom brew will be easily identifiable whenever it goes on tap at any supporting restaurant or bar. The tap handle is designed to look like bicycle gears and chain – there are even actual bike chains wrapped around the replica gears. Next step is to add Neil Carroll’s Rusty Chain beer logo to the top circle of the handle. The frame and the gears were all cut out with the Atlas Steel water jet system, making the accessory smoother and lighter than the original design that looked more like a chainsaw blade.
When the handle is finished, the appearance will look like, well… a rusty bike chain. We tested out the original design on the Campieri’s tap system. We are pleased to say that the custom design looked really sharp. Once rusted, the steel is clear-coated to prevent the user’s hands free from ‘the elements’. Look for the handles to appear around town at Thanksgiving time.

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …

Worrying about a tap handle? If the beer sucks the tap handle doesn't mean anything.
