Spa 341 @ The Executive Performance Center

Spa 341 @ The Executive Performance Center

Story Options

Over the last week I've been compiling a BR retrospective that will showcase (slide show) many of the development posts that I (and others) have been covering since the start of the magazine. In order to do that I have gone back to revisit many of the places and people that have been featured in past issues. One of those stories involved Michael Pitek, founder of The Performance Group (341 Linwood Avenue), who spent a lot of time and money converting an old mansion on Linwood Avenue into a corporate retreat. Since then, the business model has been expanded to include a spa, now open to the public, that must be labeled the premiere urban sanctum in WNY.

It’s funny. Just last week I was having a conversation with a friend who told me that there was no real urban spa. I told her of a couple places that I was aware of and she relayed that the places that I mentioned were not serious day-spas that included whole packages and atmosphere to boot. I actually thought back to my coverage of the Executive Performance Center, but ruled it out because it was not open to the public.

When I stopped by this past Thursday I was surprised to find that the formerly exclusive services were now available to the public. I discovered that Michael and his partners were in the midst of localizing his corporate and personal draws in order to offer many of the same services to an urban clientele. This is great news for a city that can now discover an inner-sanctum in its own backyard. Not only are the spa amenities the finest around, the atmosphere is unparalleled. From the second you walk through the doors of the converted mansion, it is clear that the thoughtful attention to detail was a priority when planning the design.

If Spa 341 has piqued your interest and you’re looking for an urban getaway that normally only a resort could offer, then call 716-512-7097 or visit their site.

Absolutely THE place to escape from the daily stress. Literally you are pulled out of your routine from the moment you step in the building. Awesome way of creating an ambient, good job!....oh and the therapists are excellent also!!

...good to know they're open to the general public. Didn't know until now...and I'm just a block away!
