Save the Livery

The fate of our much beloved Livery will be decided in state supreme court tomorrow. No one cares more for the vitality and historic fabric of Buffalo than many of you Buffalo Rising readers. That is why I hope you will join us tomorrow, and if you can't come, PLEASE try to find a friend that can go in your place.
We are asking you to stand with the few in our community that all too often do the work of the many in holding our city government accountable, and fight an oft times losing battle. This is a breath-taking loss to our community, and collective spirit, and we need--NO, we demand a win on this one.
Please, please, please, try to attend.
Thursday, June 19th, at 10AM before State Supreme Court Judge Christopher Burns, 25 Delaware Avenue, third floor, part 19, Buffalo, NY.
Thank you for your support, Kitty Herrick http://www.savethelivery.com/

That is the news coming out of a Buffalo Place meeting this morning. Facing a budget shortfall and reduced State operating assistance, the NFTA is scrambling for new revenue sources and is contemplating charging for rides along the lengthy downtown pedestrian mall.

Why haven't any of you so concerned with the welfare of this building purchased it? If you aren't willing to make the sacrifice to make it your own then you have no right to determine in what is done with it.

Because the owner won't sell it --- he's had many offers but maintains a rediculous price that he wont lower.

If that is the case then the city is at fault for not punishing him for not maintaining his property. He should have been paying fines all along to encourage him to either maintain the building or sell it.
