Neo Finds New Digs On Elmwood

When I first heard that Neo Gift Studio was moving to a new location I was in a bit of shock. The gift shop has been a mainstay in Allentown for twenty-three years. Actually, I can't even imagine the corner of Allen and Franklin without the cornerstone business. I called over there earlier today and spoke to Joyce Zoerb, who, along with her sister Joan, owns the gift shop. I asked her if she was excited about the move and she replied that she had mixed emotions regarding the change. "We've been here for so long... we're downsizing a bit when we move (into a 3000 sq.' space), which means that we won't be carrying the bigger pieces of furniture. We will continue to operate as a gift item and home accessory store in the former Junior League storefront at 512 Elmwood. The owner of the building, Tim Klentos, has been super. He's really helped make the move possible. We're going to miss this Allentown neighborhood, but we're looking forward to our new adventure."
Lou Schreiber of Lu Modern Classics was excited to hear the news. "Neo will be a great addition to the block," he said. "It will increase traffic and bring a like-minded demographic to this section. We're looking forward to greater stability as stores with proven track records set up shop. Neo is complimentary to our product mix... home decor and accessories will be nice to have back here since Pier 1 moved out of the neighborhood."
Neo is looking to open in its new location sometime in late September or early October.

As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
In the meantime, posting will be light as we log new stories in the new publishing system which will only be viewable when we launch on Friday.
As always, we appreciate our users’ patience as we make this transition but we promise it will be well worth it. With faster load times, a comment view …

NEO has always been such an anchor for that end of Allen St. One of the reasons I like the owners is their affirmation of Buffalo as their business location after their 2nd store experiment in Clarence. Any idea of who or what will be taking their space on Allen?

No matter where Joan and Joyce land, their store will always look fabulous! They have some of the best merchandising in the area!
