Stand Up! For The Homeless

Don't miss Stand Up! For the Homeless Saturday, July 19 at 7 PM. Stand Up! For the Homeless will be a chance to catch a showcase of stand up comedy while helping a great cause.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Crisis Services Homeless Program, which provides Buffalonians and other New Yorkers with case management services, a 24 hour homeless hotline--providing information and direct provisions of goods to meet immediate basic needs--and more.
"The choice to use stand up comedy as a fundraiser for the homeless is a great opportunity to lighten a serious topic while having fun," said Laurie Tanner, Crisis Services Prevention Specialist. Additionally, Shanin Allen who works for Crisis Services Homeless Program will be hitting the stage to host and do a routine.
"All proceeds from Stand Up! For the Homeless will directly go to help the homeless. The money will be used to purchase various items for the homes that Crisis Services Homeless Program helps find the homeless", said Tanner.
Stand Up! For the Homeless will be hosted by Kevin Carlin and Shanin Allen. A long list of comedians will be standing up for the homeless at this event including Kate Anderson, Matt Wayne, Shaun Murphy, Greg Bauch, Dan Rice, Mark Walton, Brian Brady, Dan Fisher, and John Nowak.
The ALT Theatre will be hosting Stand Up! For the Homeless. It is located at 255 Great Arrow Avenue, off of Elmwood Avenue. For more information about this event call The ALT Theatre at 868.6847.
