Under the Wire
Apparently, Buffalo Rising's co-founder, master blogger and all-around man-about-town squeaked under the wire when he was awarded Business First's 40 Under 40 award a few weeks back.
We won't mention any names here, but we think you know who he is. If you still need a hint, he's always kept his eyes on the Queen City, and his sunny outlook always seems to keep the thunder at bay.
Furthermore, he's not George Johnson. Although George, a school chum of the other co-founder we're talking about here did have a similar birthday this fall.
So...if you happen to see a tall, lanky, sunny-dispositioned guy (who looks ten years younger than he is) running all over town today with a pen in his hand, looking for positive news to bring to you...be sure to say: Happy birthday, Newell!

My Favorite Buildings
This house on Richmond Avenue is very unusual for Buffalo. It stands out among its wooden neighbors not only in material but also in detail and form. Buffalo is overwhelmingly constructed of wood with brick coming in a distant second as a material. Stone houses are very rare. Also rare is the Palazzo styling and shape of this house. The Wait is Almost Over - BR's New Site
As we mentioned in our previous post, we’re in the process of changing the Buffalo Rising site. We’re almost there as we expect to launch the new site on Friday, December 19th.
